The
Beatles – The Band of the Century
The Beatles are infamously known for their good looks, charming
accents and great tunes. It was a group of four guys who started off performing
small gigs, but ended up becoming one of the most influential bands in music
history and it’s members were huge advocates of peace and love.
There were four main (most recognized) members of the band;
John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Originally from
Liverpool England, they released their first record in the United States titled
“Meet the Beatles” under Capitol Records. This record went on to sell millions
and spent some time as number 1 on Billboard album chart. The Beatles have 13
studio albums. Some of their most famous songs include such songs as
”Yesterday” (below), “Let it Be” (below), “Hey Jude” (below), “All My Loving”,
“Imagine” (performed and composed by John Lennon) and “I Want to Hold your
Hand”. They received nine Grammy Awards and three Brit Awards. The Beatles
transformed rock music into something no one would ever have thought possible,
it became a way to express not only their love for those around them but for
their fans and the people that were struggling in the world at the time. Unfortunately,
the band could not last and in December of 1970, Paul McCartney public
announced the split of the Beatles.
Today, Paul McCartney continues to make music and perform.
Ringo Starr is still active in the entertainment world and continues to tour in
places such as Australia and Japan. John Lennon was sadly murdered in December
of 1980. George Harrison died in November of 2001 from a battle with cancer.

peace and understanding.” – Paul McCartney
“Love is a promise, love is a souvenir, once given, never
forgotten, never let it disappear.” – John Lennon
"I am not the Beatles. I'm me. Paul
isn't the Beatles...The Beatles are the Beatles. Separately, they are
separate." – John Lennon
"We've got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant.
You can't just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it's going
to get on by itself. You've got to keep on watering it. You've got to really
look after it and nurture it." – John Lennon
